For those Active Duty personnel and supporters of Lazy Lab Hunting Club (LLHC) stationed at beautiful Naval Postgraduate School in Monterrey, CA, this Hog Hunt turned out to be a real treat for those who attended.
Coordinated by LLHC President, Matthew Mitchelson, eight personnel carpooled down to Vandenberg Air Force Base (located approximately nine miles from Lompoc, CA) on the 5th of February, 2013, for a three-day Hog Hunting expedition. Many of those who attended had never experienced a California Hog Hunt, especially when hunting in a large group. The feeling of adventure was strong and anticipation was high as we all craved to harvest a large hog.
Although many hogs were seen, none were taken. However, the time spent together was incredible as we all were able to share sea-stories and solidify a bond of friendship that only those who have deployed can do.
I hope we all can recreate this feeling in the many future trips that are yet to come.
God bless, y’all!
Matt Mitchelson
