Wounded Warrior Hunt – Premier Whitetail Retreat (Ashland, Ohio) 09 – 12 October, 2014.
Leading the way as the first club event of its kind for Wounded Warriors, the Lazy Lab Hunting Club Trophy Whitetail Hunt was a huge success, with Sgt. Christopher Hankins, USMC, harvesting a record worthy buck. The hunt was held October 9th through 12th, 2014, at the Premier Whitetail Retreat in Ashland, Ohio. The Lazy Lab Hunting Club created the event in order to provide a special expedition for a member of the armed forces wounded in combat, and to raise awareness of the club’s mission dedicated to the support the military members and their families. “I’m very proud of our members and volunteers who stepped up to help raise funds, volunteered their time, and prayed for the success of this trip,” said David J. Desrosiers, III, Cofounder of the Lazy Lab Hunting Club. “Beyond the many new relationships that were developed over the last few months leading up to this trip, and during the hunt itself, this experience proved that American citizens truly care about their injured warriors and desire to give back for the many sacrifices that servicemen and women endure.” Sgt. Christopher Hankins traveled from the Wounded Warrior Battalion – West located at United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. Although long travel and late arrival caused fatigue, the Sgt. And guides were eager to venture into the field. By the end of the second day, Sgt. Hankins harvested a beautiful trophy whitetail.
