DAILY REFLECTIONS ON LENT

SCRIPTURE: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39.   On a field trip the other day the preschool teacher reminded the children several times, “stick together, don’t get separated, stay close to me.” Her words were not enough. To guarantee compliance without added adult leadership, the wandering tendencies of children would have caused a crisis. These children needed not only to be spoken to, but guided, watched, and corrected. Separation seems to happen naturally.   God won’t let it happen. No power, plan, or purpose can break up His family or fracture His kingdom. He knows who we are and where we are! No power can pull us apart. Now our eternal journey, with God at our side, is filled with confidence. We can grow and explore the entire universe because we know we are never alone! He not only tells us, He leads us!   (Adapted from Rev. Stan Beard’s 2016 devotional)
